Austin Interactive 2008: Putting Social Commerce to Work

If you're in Austin this Thursday, June 19, check out the Interactive Austin 2008: Putting Social Commerce to Work conference. Most of the participants in the panels and keynotes are from the Austin area (which bodes well for the growth of the social media industry here) as well as folks from GigaOm, Sun Microsystems, AMD, Walmart, and BusinessWire.

We'll be on a panel to discuss "Integrating New Media into the Marketing Plan". This panel was supposed to be titled "Integrating Social Media into the Marketing Plan" but I think the webmasters forgot to update the "New" to "Social".

Either way, we're looking forward to participating and talking with attendees about this. Social media hasn't historically been a line item on marketing groups' budgets, but hey, social media hasn't been around for very long. And... spend in this area has definitely risen considerably over the past 2 years and is projected to continue to do so.

If you're attending, stop by and say hello.
